The traditional view of family law attorneys is the zealous advocate who’s only job is to win. I have been called a “bulldog,” “tenacious” and other terms typically associated with aggressive representation, but those are not the attributes I ascribe to myself. I have learned that the emphasis on zealous representation that may be necessary in other types of cases is not always appropriate in family matters. Rather, I truly seek to be a problem solver, not a conflict maker, and in doing so I hope to help families heal.

I believe that the important qualities of a good divorce lawyer are honesty, professionalism with the Court and opposing counsel, composure during highly emotional cases, and being available. While I may have earned the “tenacious” reputation from my courtroom skills and results, I really do seek to put the clients’ best interests before showmanship and incivility. Those best interests in a family case are the well-being of children, family peace, and economic stability, not waging war.
