Cori Mayhall joined Angela Evans Law in May of 2016 after many years in the Office Administration field.
Angela Evans began her legal career as a criminal prosecutor in Birmingham, Alabama, where she handled numerous felony and misdemeanor jury trials and related hearings. Angela tried her first jury trial while she was still a law student and was assigned to felony court her first day as a Deputy District Attorney, just after being licensed by the Alabama State Bar. At the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office in Birmingham, Alabama, Angela trained under the best trial lawyers in the state, and she has rapidly gained trial and courtroom experience since then. Upon moving to Central Illinois, Angela’s work quickly delved into civil practice, with a larger law firm in the area.
Angela strongly believes in educating the client on legal matters in plain English, so that the client can make informed decisions and have significant input on the decisions that are made in their legal representations. Angela believes that every client has a unique story and point of view that she must listen to and understand in order to be able to relay her client’s message effectively to the Court. She also feels that her dedication to communicating promptly and often with her clients helps clients understand the proceedings, may calm the stress of the litigation, and keeps the client informed of costs and expenditures.
Illinois Super Lawyers and Chicago Magazine named Angela to the 2013 Illinois Rising Stars list in Business Litigation and the 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 Illinois Rising Stars list in Family Law. The Leading Lawyers named Angela an Emerging Lawyer in 2017 and 2018. Angela was also named the Illinois State Bar Association’s 2012 Young Lawyer of the Year outside of Cook County. She is a member of the Abraham Lincoln American Inns of Court and an associate fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
